“You know? This is starting to get really strange.”

“What do you mean Sarah?”

“Come on Nazz, isn’t it obvious?” Nazz stared at Sarah questioningly. “My idiot brother, Double D, Eddy, and their new friends are hardly around anymore. We only see them late in the day, and what really makes things strange is that Rolf and Kevin aren’t around either.”

“I don’t know about Kevin but Rolf’s been going to the forest every day, and he doesn’t get back until the night time.” Johnny interjected, overhearing their conversation.

“Why is everyone leaving?!” Screamed Jimmy.

Meanwhile in the mountains of Peach Creek:

Rolf was struggling to maintain the kaioken times four without any energy drain. So far his efforts were somewhat showing results. His Great Nano had given him the armor that Rolf's Great, Great, Great Nano Yonick had crafted himself, along with a cape that was also crafted by Yonick. The armor and cape were heavily weighted so that the warrior who wore it would gain great strength and speed. The armor resembled Pikkon's weighted clothing greatly but it had a few elements of Olibu's and Piccolo's outfits as well, it even had a turban that resembled Pikkon's as well.. It felt like it weighed several hundred pounds but Rolf was able to move with superb grace and agility after long hours of training. Rolf fired off a barrage of ki blasts in the air; he focused and controlled the blasts to come back at him and hit him directly. Rolf grunted through the intense pain of his own attack. He had been doing this endurance training for quite some time now, and it was working. Explosions of ki blasts could be faintly heard in the distance and could even be clearly sensed by those who knew how to sense energy.

“The good doers have encountered more evil ones. Could this be the?! Rolf’s power is lacking compared to the Ed-boys and their friends!” Rolf clenched his fists before he punched a boulder, shattering it. “Rolf must train harder if he wishes to save his property and loved ones.”

For the next few hours, Rolf put himself through grueling methods of training. After learning that saiyans become stronger after injuries, he developed a new method of training. The goal was to maintain the kaioken times four for as long as possible, but unfortunately he couldn’t maintain it for too long. Rolf had accomplished his goal of maintaining the times four kaioken for a much longer duration than before after several hours of extreme training. He was dirty, bleeding, sweating, energy spent, and extremely sore. Rolf limped home for some well-deserved rest.

Meanwhile:

The same man was watching Rolf train with interest. “I think it’s time I show this kid the ropes. Yeah, it’s definitely time.”
As Rolf made it to the cul-de-sac, he was met by the kids. They stared at him with suspicion, great suspicion.

“Rolf where were you? And why are you so beat up?” Asked Nazz.

“Yeah, Plank says that you leave the cul-de-sac every day to go into the woods. What do you do in there anyways?”

“Is this a test?! Rolf is being sent by his Great Nano into the forest to gather seeds for his garden. Now if you shall excuse Rolf, Rolf must wash up, fill his belly, and rest.”

Rolf continued past the kids and entered his house.

“Something is fishy.” Said Sarah.

“You’re right. Something is not right here.” Replied Nazz.

The kids stood in silence, pondering the strange events around the cul-de-sac. Rolf, however, had finished devouring all the food in his refrigerator before washing up and going to bed. Rolf immediately fell asleep and let the rest recharge his body back to 100%. Rolf awoke to the sound of his chickens calling. He figured it was 7 AM. He quickly got dressed, put on his armor, and ran out the door towards the woods. He made sure no one saw him as he entered the woods. Rolf quickly arrived at his usual training area and quickly began his warm up. Just as he began his warm up, he sensed an enormous power level. In fact it was so great it that his was nonexistent compared to this power.

“What is this power Rolf senses?!”

“That would be me.”

Rolf turned to face a man with an orange Gi with a blue undershirt, blue wristbands, and blue boots. He had several scars on his face and his hair was wild, long, and somewhat spikey. He stood at a little over 6 feet tall and was muscularly built. His most distinguishing feature, however, was the glowing ring above his head.

“Who are you? And what business do have with the son of a Shepard?!”

“If you want information then you’ll have to beat it out of me kid.” The man settled into a fighting stance similar to the one Rolf saw Goku using.

“You taunt Rolf?! Rolf will teach you to respect his ancestors! Kaioken times four I say!”

Rolf launched himself full speed at the man and threw a powerful jab. Unfortunately he hit nothing as the man was no longer there. Rolf was confused; he quickly searched the area for the strange man.

“Over here!”

Rolf looked up to see the man sitting on a tree branch. He couldn’t believe the speed he had, and it wasn’t even a fraction of his true power.

“Rolf shall not be discouraged elder!”

Rolf removed his armor and now that he was lighter, he was much faster and stronger than before. Rolf flew at full speed towards the man and threw a kick, which was blocked by the man’s forearm. The man flicked Rolf’s chest and Rolf was sent flying back at incredible speeds before colliding with several trees and a few boulders. Rolf struggled to pick himself up from the dirt; that attack was unbelievable.

“So are we done here?”

“Why do you require Rolf’s audience?” Said Rolf as he spat out some blood to the side.

“I’m here to help you with your problem. You want to become stronger in order to protect those close to you, correct?”

“…Continue…”

“I’m offering you a once in a lifetime training opportunity. Stick with me and I’ll show you how it’s done. What do you say?”

Rolf was in deep thought, he knew that this was an opportunity that he couldn’t pass up, but he wasn’t too sure about this guy. He sensed his energy and found no negative emotions whatsoever. He came to a decision.

“Rolf accepts your offer. I am Rolf the son of a Shepard, and you are?”

“The name’s Yamcha, you’re new teacher. Let’s go!”

Yamcha took off into the sky leaving Rolf waiting on the ground. Rolf hesitated at first, but quickly followed him after. He was going to become more powerful than ever.

Before Rolf took off after Yamcha, he quickly went and retrieved his armor and cape. Yamcha and Rolf were flying for what seemed 30 minutes now and Rolf still didn’t know where they were going. Rolf decided to get some answers.

“Scar faced elder, where do you take Rolf?”

“As I said before, my name is Yamcha, and don’t worry you’ll see soon enough. We’re almost there.”

Rolf looked on into the distance; eventually he saw a tower of immense height reaching far into the heavens. He was in total awe at the spectacle. Yamcha led him upwards toward the top of the tower, and it took a few minutes to reach it. Once there, Yamcha stopped in midflight next to one of the domed tower’s roof.

“Hey Korin! You there?”

After a few seconds a white cat that carried a long wooden staff came into view.

“Yamcha?! Boy is it good to see you! I haven’t seen you and the guys since I visited other world 100 years ago. The only visitors I get nowadays are Goku, Mr Popo, Baba, and Roshi. So what’s up and who’s the kid?”

“Just the usual things a person who’s been dead for 1000 years does. Oh and this Rolf, I’m going to be training him.” Replied Yamcha as he pointed to Rolf, who bowed respectfully to the ancient martial arts master.

“Hmm, well Rolf you’re welcome to come and train with me whenever you’d like.”

“Rolf shall show his gratitude by rubbing the belly of the ancient one with the fermented butter made of Victor’s milk.”

Korin and Yamcha said nothing in response.

“Yeah…ok…anyways, Yamcha you’d better hurry and get to the lookout because Baba is getting impatient.”

“Alright thanks Korin and make sure to come and visit more frequently.”

“Take it easy Yamcha and good luck Rolf!” Yelled Korin as the two flew up to Kami’s lookout.

Yamcha led Rolf to the top of the world, Kami’s lookout! Rolf inspected the lookout carefully. How it was floating at the top of the world was a complete mystery to him. The lookout looked utterly beautiful, everything was utterly flawless. The gardens and the white floor were a work of art. Rolf noticed someone watering the plants. Upon closer inspection it was a round, black; red lipped, and short being who appeared to be a genie. The being looked up at Rolf with very big eyes and a somewhat disturbing smile.

“Hello Yamcha. Who’s the boy there with you?” The genie said in a calm but creepy voice.

“Hey Mr. Popo. This here is Rolf; I’m taking him to go train. He might just be Earth’s hope against these androids; after all we are dead. Have you seen Baba?”

“Hello Rolf and yes she’s inside with Master Roshi.”

“Hello I am Rolf, son of a Shepard. Rolf admires your garden.”

“Thank you I do try my best to keep this place in top condition.”

Yamcha and Rolf nodded and went inside the building in the center of the lookout. Inside Rolf saw an old woman sitting on a crystal ball and an old man with a wooden staff and sunglasses.

“Hey guys! This is Rolf, the kid I was telling you about.”

“Hello I am Rolf, Son of a Shepard. It is an honor as mighty as my Great Nana’s stuffed pepper to meet the ancient ones of the Earth.”

No one said a word.

“Uh right. I’m Master Roshi and this is my sister Baba.”

“Hello and I don’t mean to be rude but we must leave now. Yamcha you’re life energy will be depleted any moment now.”

“Well it looks like we made it just in time.”

Baba simply rolled her eyes.

“Well Master Roshi, we have to go now but be sure to visit us when you can.” Said Yamcha as Baba prepared to transport them.

“Good luck and give it all you got Rolf!” Yelled Roshi.

Rolf blinked as he immediately found himself in other place. It was unbelievable how fast she had transported them. He observed his surroundings and was shocked to see a giant red palace on a large white stone road. What really caught his eye was how it was floating on yellow clouds.

“Where have you taken Rolf, wicked witch of the west?”

“I’m just going to assume you were trying to be funny. And this is otherworld, the realm of the dead.” Rolf was amazed that he was in the land of the dead. His Great Nano had told him stories of this place before. “Well Yamcha it’s in your hands now. Now I must return to Earth.”

“Thank you Baba!” Yelled Yamcha as Baba floated off and out of view. “Come on Rolf, let’s go!”

Yamcha flew into the red palace with Rolf following closely. Rolf was astonished by the interior of the palace and more so by the giant red ogre that sat at house sized desk in the back of the foyer. He quickly took notice of them and spoke.

“Hello Yamcha how have you been? And who’s your friend, who I can tell is still alive?”

“Hey King Yemma! This is the kid I was telling you about. You know, the one who needs training from King Kai.”

“Ah yes! Rolf is it?”

“How does everyone know who Rolf is?”

“I’m the Judge of the Dead. That means I know everyone’s name. You Rolf have been called here to receive training from King Kai, the Lord of the North Quadrant of the Universe. Why you? Because you’re Earth’s best shot to defeat these androids, along with those who fought in the school wars. If you wish to receive training from King Kai then you must run Snake Way, the longest road in the universe. At its end you will reach King Kai’s planet where he and Yamcha will train you so that you can save Earth from the Androids.”

“How long is Snake Way?”

“Exactly one million miles long and you pretty much have one month until you have to return to fight.”

Rolf nearly chocked when he heard that. There was no way he could do this.

“How will Rolf travel one million miles and then train in just one month?!”

“Calm down Rolf. Though it took Goku over 100 days to run Snake Way, he only had a power level of 400. When Tien, Piccolo, Chiaotzu, and I died we had power levels of over 1,000. It took us around a month to make it. And don’t forget you know the kaioken; that will help you a lot.”

Rolf face palmed himself for not remembering.

“Rolf accepts the challenge! Show Rolf the way!”

Yamcha escorted Rolf outside the palace to Snake Way’s head and stopped in front of the head. Rolf gazed out to the horizon. It looked like it went on forever.

“Well Rolf here it is. I’ll be waiting for you at King Kai’s and if you make it in two weeks you’ll have completed the first part of your training. Good luck and hurry, the Earth is counting on you.”

Rolf nodded and turned to face Snake Way.

“Kaioken times three I say!”

In a blur of red Rolf shot off in a high speed run on Snake Way with Yamcha looking on while showing a smile. He was off to train with King Kai.

Rolf’s Stats (No Kaioken):
Power Level: 1,350
HP: 1,350
ATK: 550
DEF: 500
SPD: 300
NOTE: Though Rolf has been training hard, he has fallen behind in power compared to the heroes. Why? Because he hasn’t been gaining power from the fights he has not been a part of.
